Printer Woes Posted on September 22nd, 2006 by

This summer, Technology Services replaced all the printers in all the residence hall labs with new black and white laser printers. The old printers had printed hundreds of thousands of copies and had become difficult to keep in good working condition in this demanding environment.

The new printers have caused some unexpected problems in the labs. The problems are due to an incompatibility with the toner cartridges and the new printers. Our toner provider and the Technology Helpline Staff have been working hard trying to resolve the problems. We believe we have the problems resolved.

Users experiencing problems with the printers in the residence halls labs should contact the Technology Helpline (x6111) for help. If the printer control panel is showing an error code, please try pushing the green button with the check mark on it on the printer control panel.

For help setting your personal machine to print to the printer in your residence hall lab, please see Residence Hall Printing or contact the Technology Helpline (x6111).
